Depressing ….. test

Gave another test. My score actually dipped. I got stubborn on 3 question and wasted:

8 min 36 sec

6 min 28 sec

4 min 32 sec

Result: For the the first time, I ra out of time on maths. The questions were good, but in the last section, I had to randomly select 7-8 questions. My Maths was 42

Verbal: Here was a surprise. No I did not finish on time. Most of the last week, 5 out of 7 days I focused on SC only, did not touch CR or RC. CR – 100%, RC – 9 Right 2 wrong + 3 wrong(randomly selected). In RC I was following Knewton strategy to read WHAT and WHY about the passage. Unlike previous test, I did not waste time in taking down notes, I just wrote one word per line and drew Arrow to go to the next idea. Ex:

Scientist –> Theory —> adaption –> Pasage 2 Ex 1 –> Passage 3 Ex2 + Ex3 —> Passage 4 Ex and suggestion. That’s it. I did not read examples in passages, skipped them, just looked for word however, but, yet etc.

SC – improved slightly and average time on SC was 1 min 20 sec. 8 Right 4 wrong. I need to work on getting most right and also on time. The time should be 1 minute.

It is very very depressing to see that even after weeks, my score would not budge.

Take aways:

1. Sleep well before exam. (I slept at 3:30 Am last night!!!)

2. Practice Maths twice a week. Focus more on DS with number property. Stick to your approach on DS that you learnt from MGMAT. Solve the equation, look the variable you need to find. Then go the answers. Plugging in value does not work for me. I take too much time.

3. DO NOT GET STUCK ON QUESTION. No matter what happens move to next question.

4. Do a question – time check.

~~~ ciao (I WILL move to mid 650s by end of August!!!!)
